The moderator insists on posting a Christian writing that is extremely anti-Catholic.... I am not schooled enough to defend our Faith properly, could someone join this tribe and help me? The mod says he is interested in the Catholic viewpoint but if you read some of what is said sabout the Catholic religon by posting it he is saying the opposite.

Wed, October 31, 2007 - 6:52 AM......unfortunately, there is a preponderance of anti-Catholicism on Tribe within both Christian and Pagan circles. I find value in having a posse of Jesuits available in my town to handle such---I'm a working man without the academic background for such debate, myself. Perhaps someone has a suggestion to forward the OP

Sat, November 10, 2007 - 7:40 AMGratePhil, I have noticed the same anti-Catholicism everywhere, but remember that even Christ didn't escape jeers, ridiculing, persecution, so I hold my head up and ask God to help others lose their prejudices. It's a sad day when someone hesitates to say they are Catholic, when another person asks them their denomination.

Our Parrish has had a Priest that used to be in our area accused of abuse....it was a recovered memory, there have been no charges filed and there has only been the one accusation..... no one else anywhere has come forward to say that this Priest has abused anyone but he has been put on leave and the letters to the editor have been very harsh in regards to the support our Parrish has been giving this Priest.
I suppose I am going to have to let this sort of stuff roll off my back.

if i were to offer advice, i would suggest, of course, to pray, and to study and learn as much as you can about the Catholic faith. the more you learn, the more you'll want to know b'c the faith is so deep and rich and full of mystery and beauty! make sure you have a Catholic version of the Bible, get a copy of the Catechism, and read some apologetics books. a couple of good ones to help in this case would be "Where is that in the Bible?" by Patrick Madrid and "Catholic Christianity" by Peter Kreeft.
and it's going to happen, being challenged by other Christians and even other Catholics on what we, the Church and the Body of Christ, believe and why. so know it, live it, love it, and in time, you'll be able to defend it when necessary.
